Nicole’s Website

Im so happy that my website is finally done it was such a tedious process for me but im done! I had a lot of fun creating it even though I was very frustrated but I love my site! I hope that everyone enjoys it!

The purpose of my project is to inform people about my work as a journalist and to market myself to potential employers. It is an easy way to show off my work without having to spell it all out in a resume, this way they can simply go to my website and look at it. My intended audience are both my classmates (or people interested in my site) and like I said before, potential employers. I used a simple black background and a splash of aqua and pink to show my creative side with colors. By adhering to Robin Williams principles of design, I  believe I have a very successful website. There is a constant navigation bar and I used the same text font and colors for the same classification of text throughout my pages. The alignment of my text and pictures keeps them out of the way yet noticeable for my audience. There is nothing about the subject matter that would raise legal or ethical questions because it is all of my original work.

I love skateboards and I love taking pictures so one day while on the Metro I took this picture of this skateboard that a young man was holding up. The pictures emphasized are on the original board but I wanted to enhance them because they were my favorite ones.

I love this cover of Elle magazine…absolutely love it. Alek Wek has such beautiful skin and the energy from this picture is amazing! I also like how the fashion scene is slowly but surely conforming to the fact that beauty comes in all shapes, races and ethnicities.

Nicole Thomas-Holder Tornado Infographic

Sooooo….I originally did the info-graphic project incorrectly but now I have completed it correctly!! I did my info-graphic on the average wind speeds of tornadoes with different intensities. When I graduate, I plan on studying meteorology and I have always taken a particular interest with tornadoes so I really enjoyed doing this project! I hope you all enjoy it!!!

Nicole Infographic-The DC Metro get-around!

I travel the green line and get of at the Suitland stop.

For my info graphic project I decided to construct a map of the DC/MD/VA metro system. I have embossed the green line because that is the line that I travel on to get in and out of the city.  This info graphic is very helpful because it outlines all of the metro stops for people leaving or coming into the city. I reduced the contrast and brightness of the outlying lines to add emphasis on the specific line I travel on but not to the point where the others cannot be read.

A day in the life of Nicole Holder…(im tired of using technology O_o)

I walk this way to class every day. The people just....blend.

I must stop by the cookie truck for my day to be complete.

I always intend to go to Paley for my homework...but these fools distract me!

I always find myself standing underneath this sign...every. single. day.

I end every day at my beautifully expensive apartment in University Village.

Hey everyone!! My name is Nicole and I am currently a junior here at Temple studying Broadcast Journalism and Spanish. I keep changing my major so most likely I will be in a different school sooner or later just because I have no clue what I want to do =O.  I am 20 years old and I was born in DC, raised in MD. After graduation, I was thinking about attending FSU to study meteorology or going into the Air Force and studying Law. Currently I live in University Village and work with Jumpstart of Philadelphia through Temple. I model with Dynasty Models Ent. and am a part of Expressions fashion organization as well as TABJ.
