Project Brief: The purpose of this project was to create a double truck that was tied into my magazine cover I created a few weeks ago. I definitely did this, the subject of my cover was my dog Jager, and I expanded on the cover in the article.

My audience is dog enthusiasts, especially Lab lovers, who enjoy photos and stories about this breed of dog. The story, as well as the photos appeal to this audience, revolving around one particular dog and the stories (albeit falsities) of his life.

I think my grasp of design concepts is clearly evident. I use the headline well and the full page spread is a really high quality photo. The layout of the facing page is organized and uses alignment and repetition to draw the reader to the pull quote and photos. I use a basic color scheme, but incorporate blue and yellow in the main design.

My name is Ricky Ueberroth and I’m a fifth-year senior journalism major. I played football here for three years, ran out of money and missed the season where we finally were bowl eligible.

I’m from Lancaster, Pennsylvania and love pretty much everything about it. I came to Temple to see what the city was all about and have been pretty happy during my time here. In my free time at home I pretty much just hang out and take an occasional fishing trip around SC PA or down the shore.

I enjoy essentially all sports, but my passion lies in Philly teams (especially my Phils). The photo I uploaded is from game three of the ’09 World Series (I’m dressed so ridiculously because my girlfriend didn’t acknowledge my warnings of how cold it would end up). I worked a construction job for the past eight months and am thrilled to be back in school to finally get my degree.
