Haiti Infographic- Derek Forney

leave a comment »

I really like this Infographic about Haiti for several reasons. First, the map shows the places the earthquake and aftershocks hit in red, based on magnitude. This gives a great visual representation. Second, the rest of the infographic deals with the population. It effectively shows how the different segments of the population were effected as well as a visual representation of them using blocks. The use of red against the grayish background creates a lot of contrast while the rest of the project has great alignment. Although many of the numbers shown on this chart are hard to visualize, the images used make them easy to understand.
